Sherzod Asadov explained the main essence of the updates in the field of education

Presidential Press Secretary Sherzod Asadov commented on the latest changes in the education system.

According to him, the main goal of merging the two ministries is to manage all stages of education within a single system and to exercise separate control over quality.

The new Ministry of Education and Science will be responsible for organizing the activities of kindergartens, schools, professional, and higher education institutions, as well as their operational processes, educational requirements, licensing, and accreditation.

The National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education will be engaged in developing curricula, textbooks, and methodological materials, implementing them into practice, and analyzing the results. This process will be established based on the "Portrait of an Uzbek School Graduate." During the President's presentation on September 28, special emphasis was also placed on modern skills, independent thinking, and decision-making abilities in the model of the new school graduate.

The Presidential Administration and a special working group under it will develop the structure of the new ministry, work processes, and the overall strategy of the reform.

In the field of higher education, plans include reducing state intervention, expanding the independence of universities, increasing opportunities for the non-state sector, and shaping quality through competition and market demand.
