Obid Khakimov became Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration for Education Reform
Presidential Advisor on Economic Policy Obid Khakimov has been appointed Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration for Education Reform and, concurrently, Rector of New Uzbekistan University. Kamoliddin Mardonov has become the new Advisor on Economic Policy.

Obid Khakimov appointed Deputy Head of Presidential Administration for Education Reform
Obid Arzikulovich Khakimov has been appointed Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration for Education Reform and concurrently Rector of New Uzbekistan University. This was announced by the President's press secretary, Sherzod Asadov.
Prior to this — since October 2025 — he held the post of Advisor to the Head of State on Economic Policy, and earlier served as Deputy Advisor on Economic Policy — Director of the Center for Economic Research and Reforms.
Kamoliddin Karamiddinovich Mardonov previously worked as First Deputy Head of the Department for Legal Expertise and Comprehensive Analysis of the Presidential Administration.
It was previously reported that by presidential decree, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation were merged into a single Ministry of Education and Science.
