Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark

On October 2, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, who arrived in our country on an official visit.

During the meeting, practical aspects of further expanding Uzbekistan-Denmark relations in political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres were discussed.

The significant activation of bilateral cooperation was noted with satisfaction. Last year, Uzbekistan's first ambassador to Denmark, with residence in Stockholm, was appointed. This year, Denmark appointed its Special Representative for Central Asia.

It was emphasized that the volume of mutual trade has increased nearly fivefold in recent years. Joint projects are being implemented in Uzbekistan with the participation of leading Danish companies in the mining, chemical, and food industries, agriculture, water supply, and other sectors.

The need to further increase the volume of mutual trade, attract Danish investments, advanced technologies, and know-how to energy, pharmaceuticals, transport and logistics, the agro-industrial complex, and other promising areas was noted.

It was also particularly emphasized that there is significant potential for developing relations in the fields of education, culture, and tourism.

In addition, views were exchanged on topical issues of international and regional importance.

At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to further strengthen the institutional and contractual-legal frameworks to systematically expand cooperation.
