On August 7, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke by phone with President of the United States of America Donald Trump. This was reported by the Presidential Press Service.
At the beginning of the conversation, Shavkat Mirziyoyev once again congratulated Donald Trump on the 250th anniversary of US independence.
Donald Trump, in turn, noted that relations between Uzbekistan and the United States have reached an unprecedented level, and a close dialogue based on trust has been formed between the leaders of the two states.
The parties noted with satisfaction that the agreements reached at the highest level are being consistently implemented and discussed the prospects for further development of strategic partnership.
It is noted that in recent years, cooperation between the two countries has covered almost all areas. In particular, a three-year economic cooperation program is being implemented, the first meeting of the US-Uzbekistan Business and Investment Council was held, and cooperation between the regions of Uzbekistan and US states is expanding.
It was also noted that the introduction of a visa-free regime in Uzbekistan for US citizens serves to intensify business relations.
Today, joint projects are being implemented in civil aviation, automotive, mining, infrastructure, energy, metallurgy, artificial intelligence, digital technologies and other areas.
During the telephone conversation, issues on the international agenda were also discussed. The leaders stressed the importance of continuing efforts to strengthen global security and peacefully resolve international and regional conflicts.
The plan for future bilateral and multilateral meetings was also considered. At the end of the conversation, Shavkat Mirziyoyev invited Donald Trump to pay an official visit to Uzbekistan at a time convenient for him.
