The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, proposed that the Central Asian states develop a regional atlas of highly demanded professions and competencies. He announced this at the eighth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian States and Azerbaijan, held in the city of Avaza, Turkmenistan.
"We need to have a good understanding of what kind of specialists our economy will need in the future. For this purpose, we propose to develop a regional atlas of highly demanded professions and competencies. It can combine the forecast data of our countries in areas where there is currently a shortage of specialists and where demand will grow in the coming years. This will allow universities and vocational education institutions to anticipate the real needs of the economy," said the head of state.
The President noted that in the future, it would be possible to train personnel for major projects implemented in several countries of the region.
"In this way, education will be directly linked to the development of industry, transport, energy, digital technologies, and other sectors," Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
"Our countries have great demographic potential. The population is growing, and the number of young people is increasing. What the region's economy will look like in ten, twenty, and thirty years largely depends on the quality of education and vocational training of young people. Therefore, education and youth support should occupy a special place in our cooperation," the President said.
