Uzbekistan has identified new growth areas for its regions.

Authorities have identified sectors that will drive growth in Uzbekistan's regions, including mechanical engineering, exports, AI, and green energy.

Uzbekistan has outlined new vectors for economic growth for its regions. These priority areas were identified following the sixth open dialogue between President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and entrepreneurs, which took place in Khiva, according to presidential press secretary Sherzod Asadov.

By 2026, Uzbekistan aims to increase its gross domestic product to more than $180 billion and its exports to over $40 billion. To achieve these ambitious goals, the government intends to create favorable conditions for the further development of entrepreneurship, stimulate the production of high-value-added products, create high-paying jobs, and facilitate companies' entry into new international markets.

"There are 40 million of us. To further improve the lives of our people, we must maintain high rates of economic growth," Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized.

In Tashkent, export-oriented business has been identified as a key development area. The Andijan, Fergana, and Namangan regions will focus on the textile industry and mechanical engineering with a full production cycle. The Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khorezm regions will develop their own brands in tourism, creative industries, and agro-industrial complexes.

The Navoi and Tashkent regions plan to create long-term value chains in the mining and metallurgy industries and scientific chemistry. For the Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya regions, the agro-industrial complex and petrochemicals have been identified as promising areas.

In Karakalpakstan, green energy, information technology, and artificial intelligence have been identified as the driving forces of economic growth. The Jizzakh and Syrdarya regions will develop competitive clusters in the automotive, electrical engineering, and construction materials industries.

According to the president, the development of these areas should facilitate the creation of new opportunities for the population and entrepreneurs within the country. "Then our people will no longer need to travel abroad to earn money, and the entrepreneurs of the New Uzbekistan will reach a new stage of development. I am confident that we have the strength, capabilities, and potential to achieve this!" Mirziyoyev declared.
