“Our people will no longer need to work abroad” — Shavkat Mirziyoyev

This year, the goal has been set to increase gross domestic product by $180 billion and exports by $40 billion. Shavkat Mirziyoyev outlined the main tasks for bringing the economy to a new level.

“We are a nation of 40 million people. We need to maintain high economic growth to further improve the lives of our people,” said the head of state.

In order to increase gross domestic product by $180 billion and exports by $40 billion this year, all conditions will be created for entrepreneurs to create high-income jobs, add value, and expand foreign markets.

It is noted that export-oriented business in Tashkent, full-chain textile and machine-building in Andijan, Fergana, and Namangan, and tourism, creative industry, and agro-industrial brands in Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khorezm should be new growth points.

The task of creating long value chains in mining, metallurgy and chemistry in Navoi and Tashkent regions, and agro-industry and oil and gas chemistry in Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya regions has been set. In Karakalpakstan, “green” energy, IT and artificial intelligence will be turned into economic drivers.

Competitive clusters in automotive, electrical engineering and building materials will be developed in Jizzakh and Syrdarya.

“Then our people will no longer need to work abroad, and entrepreneurs of New Uzbekistan will enter a new stage of development. I am sure that our strength, opportunities and potential are enough for this!” said President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

At the end of the open dialogue with entrepreneurs, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev acknowledged that a new generation of entrepreneurs is being formed and firmly emphasized his readiness to always support them.

"After talking with you, I became convinced of one thing. A new generation of entrepreneurs is being formed in our country who think modernly and strive for innovation to expand their business. Never stop moving forward, growing, developing, and innovating! Behind you is a strong state that always supports you, a law that protects your rights and interests, and a president who stands shoulder to shoulder in realizing your initiatives and goals!" said the head of state.
