Shavkat Mirziyoyev learned about cotton cultivation using Xinjiang technology in Kashkadarya

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited a cotton field in the Guzar district of the Kashkadarya region, where the enterprise "Qashqadaryo Jingu" is cultivating cotton using Xinjiang technology.

The head of state was shown the methods used in seed sowing, irrigation, and crop care. On a 2.2-thousand-hectare plot, cotton seeds were sown in double rows under plastic film, and irrigation was fully converted to drip technology. The use of film helps retain moisture and heat in the soil, ensuring early and uniform germination, while the targeted delivery of water and fertilizers to the roots of the plants reduces water consumption by 30–40% and fertilizer use by almost 30%, with crop ripening accelerating by 10–15 days compared to traditional methods.

The President also learned about the results of the harvest and the organization of agrotechnical processes, where agricultural drones are actively used, speeding up field work and reducing fuel consumption. The implementation of the Xinjiang method makes it possible to yield up to 60–70 centners of cotton per hectare instead of the standard 30–35 centners. In the enterprise's fields, the average yield reached 55 centners per hectare, and the gross harvest amounted to 12.3 thousand tons of raw material.

The "Qashqadaryo Jingu" agro-cluster, established with Chinese investments, covers 18.3 thousand hectares in the Kasan, Nishan, Guzar, Kukdala, and Mirishkor districts. A significant part of these lands previously consisted of abandoned and arid plots. $128 million was directed toward the project's implementation, 50 jobs were created, and the export volume of products reached $8.5 million. In addition, during the visit, a report on the development of the region's agriculture was presented to the head of state.
