Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended a ceremony to commission newly built facilities and launch the construction of new projects in New Tashkent.
It was reported that projects worth $50 billion are planned to be implemented in the first phase of the under-construction New Tashkent alone. The city will feature 2,000 hectares of green space and 500 hectares of parks. Based on "green building standards," 150 million square meters of residential and non-residential space will be constructed.
Over the past period, work worth $2 billion was completed in New Tashkent. Residential buildings, universities, a library, and an amphitheater were constructed. At today's ceremony, seven facilities with a total value of $1 billion were commissioned.
These include the first phase of the "Sharq Bahori" residential complex, road and infrastructure facilities, the "New Tashkent" Substation No. 1, a trigeneration station, the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the "Sohil Bog'i" park, and a 2,000-seat general education school.
Built with the participation of the Turkish company "MIMSAN" through an investment of $73 million, the trigeneration station will allow centralized heating and cooling for 100,000 apartments, as well as electricity generation. The cost of the substation and high-voltage power lines project, built jointly with China's "Haocheng Industry Group Limited," amounts to $95 million.
In addition, 18 kilometers of roads were constructed, 13 kilometers of sewerage networks, and 4.5 kilometers of drinking water networks were laid. Pedestrian and bicycle paths were established in the 10-kilometer "Sohil Bog'i" park along the riverbank. Nearly 7,000 apartments were built in the initial phase of the "Sharq Bahori" residential complex.
At the ceremony, the construction of another ten major projects with a total value of $2.5 billion was launched with the participation of foreign partners from China, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and other countries.
One of them is the "Deep Tech park" industrial zone, specializing in the production of high-tech products and semiconductors. $320 million will be allocated for its construction. In the future, projects with a total value of $1.7 billion will be located here.
A project for waste collection and generating "green" electricity from it will be implemented with the participation of Finland's "MariMatic" company. Furthermore, it is planned to install photovoltaic systems with a total capacity of 20 megawatts on the roofs of multi-apartment buildings.
To connect New Tashkent with the capital, a bridge, an overpass, and 10 kilometers of road will be built between Timur Malik Street and the 4R12 highway. Constructing an underground parking lot connected to metro stations is also among the new projects.
The "Metropolis" business city, covering a total area of more than 818,000 square meters, will house offices, a hotel, residential units, and service facilities. A 500,000-square-meter section of the area is designated for business. It is expected to provide employment for 1,500 people here.
In addition, the "Silk City," "Mavj," and "Marjon" residential complexes, as well as the 120-bed New Tashkent Central Hospital, will be built.
The Head of State emphasized that these projects will serve to establish New Tashkent as a center of business, tourism, and culture, and expressed his gratitude to the builders, engineers, designers, and foreign partners participating in the construction of the city.
