The President of Azerbaijan reviewed the New Tashkent project

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited the Directorate for Construction of the City of New Tashkent.

The President of Azerbaijan visited the construction site of New Tashkent.

During the visit, the Azerbaijani leader was presented with details of the master plan for New Tashkent, the current progress of construction, and information on the future city's transport and engineering infrastructure and its development prospects.

New Tashkent, covering an area of 20,000 hectares, is designed to accommodate 2 million people. By 2034, 200,000 residential units are planned.

The first phase of the project, covering 6,000 hectares, includes the construction of modern residential complexes, social and business infrastructure facilities, and educational and cultural institutions. Specifically, campuses of New Uzbekistan University, the Nizami National Pedagogical University of Uzbekistan, and other higher education institutions are being built.

In the design and construction of the city, special attention is being paid to the principles of modern urbanism, the "green city" concept, and energy efficiency. Utilities will be laid underground, energy-saving technologies will be used, and extensive green areas and public spaces will be created.

Transport infrastructure will be a key element of the new city. New bridges, a metro line, and pedestrian and bicycle paths will ensure efficient connection between New Tashkent and the existing part of the capital.

In addition, government institutions, scientific and cultural centers, hotels, and service and business complexes will be built in the city. Both domestic and foreign investors are actively involved in the project.

President Ilham Aliyev was also shown a model of New Tashkent and provided with information on major planned projects.
