Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated builders on their professional holiday

Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated builders, architects, engineers, designers, foremen, machinists and mechanics, as well as industry veterans on the Day of Construction Workers.

In his congratulation, the President noted that the construction industry has become one of the important sectors that shape the modern image of New Uzbekistan today. It was noted that the prosperous cities and villages, neighborhoods, new housing, large strategic facilities, modern enterprises and socio-economic infrastructure being built in the country are the result of the selfless labor of builders.

According to the congratulatory message of the Head of State, over the past 9 years, more than 210 million square meters of buildings and structures have been built in Uzbekistan, including 647 thousand housing units. In 2025 alone, 135 thousand housing units with apartments were built.

Another 140,000 new apartments are planned to be commissioned in 2026. According to the long-term plan, by 2040, the number of housing units built in the country will reach 280,000 per year, and the number of “New Uzbekistan” estates will increase from 61 to 120.

In his congratulatory message, the President especially recognized the contribution of builders in completing construction and improvement work at major cultural and educational facilities in Uzbekistan this year, such as the Center for Islamic Civilization, the Imam Bukhari Memorial Complex, and the Burkhaniddin Marginoni Tourism Center.

It was also noted that megaprojects are being implemented, such as the cities of New Tashkent in the capital, Nurafshon in the Tashkent region, Babur in Andijan, Shirin in Samarkand, and Al Khorezm in Khorezm. These projects use new engineering solutions and “green” construction principles.

Today, more than 3.5 million people work in the construction, building materials industry and related sectors. According to the President's congratulatory message, in the next period, the stages of construction permits have been reduced by 3 times, and the terms by 4 times.

24 modern electronic platforms have been launched based on the national information system "Transparent Construction". The main management processes have been digitized, and all control processes have been transferred to a digital format.

An electronic tender platform has also been launched in the public procurement system. The use of artificial intelligence technologies is also being expanded in the construction sector.

It was noted that these processes serve to reduce the human factor, eliminate the risk of corruption, and increase the efficiency of decisions being made. The President noted that there are also major tasks in the future to develop construction activities and improve the quality of construction work.

In this regard, it was noted that improving the knowledge and experience of employees in the sector, their professional skills, and comprehensively encouraging their work will continue to be the focus of attention.

The Head of State congratulated construction workers on their professional holiday and wished them good health, family happiness, new achievements and success in their work.
