Shavkat Mirziyoyev examined the design of a new tourist complex in Khiva
Uzbekistan, Tashkent – Podrobno.uz.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the design of an international tourist town planned for construction in Khiva.
The complex, covering a total area of 12.3 hectares, will combine elements of traditional Khorezm urban planning with modern architectural solutions.
The project concept is based on the historical layout of the ancient city of Vazir, which became the first capital of the Khiva Khanate in 1511. The town will include hotels, a museum with historical and modern exhibits, restaurants offering national and international cuisine, retail outlets, and service businesses. A significant portion of the territory will be allocated to green spaces, promenades, cascading fountains, and internal canals, and the parking lots will be equipped with canopies with solar panels. This project will reduce the tourist burden on the Ichan-Kala historical complex, create new routes, and create thousands of new jobs. Over the past nine years, 280 hotels and guesthouses have been built in the Khorezm region, and 11 new tourist facilities have been commissioned, leading to a tenfold increase in the number of foreign tourists over five years.
Earlier, the president attended a ceremony in the Khorezm region to launch 12 new projects worth a total of $176 million and begin construction on 15 promising projects worth $7.424 billion.
