During his visit to the Olmazor district, Shavkat Mirziyoyev acquainted himself with the activities of ToshTech Technical University.

Established on the basis of the relevant decree of the head of state dated September 8, 2025, this university has become an important step towards the transformation of higher engineering education. The total value of the project is 69.5 billion soums.

At the expense of the allocated funds, the 7-story academic building of the Tashkent State Technical University was completely reconstructed and equipped with the most modern laboratory and educational equipment.

This university is an academically, financially, and organizationally-managementally independent state higher education institution. In accordance with the designated program, the relevant faculties and departments of the Tashkent State Technical University will be gradually transformed into this new innovative ecosystem by 2030.

A total of 1,654 applicants applied for the 2026/2027 academic year. 400 students, identified as the most knowledgeable and talented, were selected and admitted. All of the first admitted students are studying on a 100 percent state grant basis. This privilege will be maintained, and students admitted until the 2029/2030 academic year will also be fully covered by grants.

The educational process at the university is conducted entirely in English, and classes are taught by highly qualified foreign specialists alongside local scientists.

Students receive education in four areas: industrial engineering and management, electrical engineering, energy engineering, materials science and nanotechnology.

ToshTech is integrated with internationally recognized educational brands. The university was established in close cooperation with the world's most prestigious universities, including Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China), Politecnico di Milano (Italy), Constructor University Bremen (Germany), as well as the world-famous consulting company Boston Consulting Group.

The main goal of the university is to abandon dry theory and train students to work on real industrial projects and complex engineering problems from their very first years. Therefore, close cooperation has been established with the giants of domestic and global industry so that students can undergo internships during their studies and have a guaranteed job in the future. Among them are large companies such as ACWA, UzAuto Motors, "Thermal Power Plants", and "Regional Electrical Networks".

The head of state was briefed on the university's future plans. In the dialogue with teachers and students, it was emphasized that ToshTech Technical University should become an innovative venue that will raise a new generation of engineers who will take the country's industrial potential to a new level.

"I repeat once again, a person's property, status, or other material wealth may be temporary or lost, but no one and no force can take away the knowledge and experience in their mind and heart. Knowledge is a person's safest and most profitable investment," said the leader of the country.

The President took a photo with the university students.
