Construction of a new technical school for advanced vocational skills, including a "City of Professions," has been completed in Urgench. 72.4 billion soums were allocated from the state budget for the project.

This educational complex is designed to train young specialists according to international standards for work in key sectors such as manufacturing, construction, and logistics, as well as other in-demand economic sectors.

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the technical school to inspect its operations.

The complex, covering 5.2 hectares, includes two academic buildings designed to accommodate 1,100 students, a 300-bed dormitory, a gym, a 200-person cafeteria, and two workshops equipped with modern equipment.

The technical school's educational programs are based on the experience of Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, China, and South Korea. In the 2026/2027 academic year, 200 students who passed a competitive selection process will begin training in 11 specialties. The educational process is organized according to a dual system, combining theoretical classes with practical work at enterprises.

The technical school will also serve as a practical base for other vocational educational institutions in the Khorezm region. Its workshops and laboratories will be available for training to approximately 4,300 students from the region.

The complex includes a "Career Town," where schoolchildren and young people can master various skills by working with equipment using the "Do It Yourself" principle. The areas covered here include transportation and logistics, industry and construction, services, agriculture, and green energy.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has instructed that educational programs be regularly updated to meet labor market needs and that the successful experience of this technical school be expanded to other regions. Plans are underway to gradually establish similar technical schools in Karakalpakstan and other regions of the country.

Previously, Uzbekistan reportedly plans to quadruple the number of private vocational education centers.
