Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the activities of Technical School No. 1 in the city of Nukus. This was reported by the president's press service.

In accordance with the head of state's decree dated July 17, 2026, "On additional measures to introduce secondary specialized, vocational, and higher education programs based on international educational standards in the Republic," the international educational program Pearson BTEC of Great Britain was introduced in this technical school.

This program, which is used in 70 countries around the world, was launched for the first time in Uzbekistan in this very technical school. Its main aspect consists of harmonizing theoretical knowledge with practical skills. For this purpose, modern educational workshops and digital laboratories meeting educational standards were established.

The total value of the project is 11.9 billion soums, of which 2 billion soums were allocated by partners. As a result, modern workshops with 240 seats were built. A total of 1,203 students are studying at the technical school.

The institution is located on an area of 4 hectares, and the total area of its buildings and structures is 4.6 thousand square meters. It is planned to train specialists for the leading sectors of the region's economy by establishing dual education here. Graduates of the international program will be awarded a diploma recognized in more than 70 countries.

A "spin-off" educational program was also launched with the participation of private partner Salovutdin Ilyosov. Within its framework, 136 students are mastering modern professions that are in high demand. Core subjects are taught in English, and educational and methodological materials are also provided in this language. This serves to develop the students' professional language skills along with their professional knowledge.

As a result of practical training, graduates' opportunities to work abroad are expanding. This year, 25 unemployed citizens trained in welding at the technical school were sent to work in Estonia. They receive a salary of up to 3,000 euros per month.

Also, agreements have been reached on training the necessary specialists for the 40-million-dollar industrial zone being established precisely at this technical school. This will serve to link education with production and ensure the employment of graduates.

The head of state got acquainted with the conditions created at the technical school. Noting the growing demand for qualified personnel in the international labor market, instructions were given to organize educational processes in accordance with the needs of employers.
