Shavkat Mirziyoyev completed his official visit to Serbia and departed for Tashkent

The program of the first official visit of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Serbia has concluded. At the Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, the distinguished guest was seen off by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and his spouse, after which the head of Uzbekistan flew to Tashkent.

In Serbian airspace, the President's aircraft was escorted by fighter jets of the country's Air Force.

This visit marked a new stage in the history of bilateral relations. Following the negotiations, the leaders of the two states signed a Joint Declaration on the establishment of strategic partnership relations and exchanged a package of documents consolidating agreements in key areas. As part of the business program, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Aleksandar Vučić participated in a joint Uzbek-Serbian business forum.

During the events, a solemn ceremony was held to present the President of Uzbekistan with Serbia's highest state award — the Order of the Republic of Serbia on a Grand Collar. In addition, one of the streets in Belgrade was named "Tashkent".
