Shavkat Mirziyoyev assessed the results of a new crime-fighting experiment in the Almazar district
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev studied the results of a new method of crime prevention that was introduced in the Almazar district of Tashkent. Thanks to an innovative system of cooperation between law enforcement agencies and scientists, it was possible to completely eliminate mahallas with a difficult criminogenic situation.
Since the beginning of the year, lecturers from the Law Enforcement Academy have been assigned to the district. Together with 23 investigators, they are implementing modern approaches to preventing common crimes and increasing the efficiency of investigations.
In addition, 20 students of the academy were attached to experienced investigators and prevention inspectors as part of dual education. This allowed not only to strengthen their practical training, but also to improve the quality of preventive work in mahallas.
Based on the results of the work carried out, not a single crime was committed in 13 of the district's 64 mahallas. The number of offenses involving women decreased from 22 to 10, and no cases of recidivism among previously convicted individuals were recorded.
At the same time, the meeting emphasized that youth crime and cases of bodily harm still require special attention. In this regard, the task was set to develop effective mechanisms for preventing offenses among youth for further application of the Almazar experience.
