In Tashkent, kindergartens will be expanded and an intelligent traffic management system will be introduced

In Tashkent, there are plans to increase the coverage of preschool education and to begin implementing an intelligent transport system to combat traffic congestion. This was announced at a meeting on the socio-economic development of the capital, chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Currently, the coverage rate of children with preschool education in the Almazar district stands at 67%. It was noted that in densely populated areas, this figure can be significantly increased by expanding the capacity of existing kindergartens.

Kindergarten No. 441 was cited as a successful example, where a new building with an additional 450 places was constructed on the existing territory alongside the 385 existing places, fully meeting the needs of the mahalla. Drawing on this experience, there are plans to launch at least 5 similar projects in the Almazar district by the end of the year.

Similarly densely populated mahallas will be identified in other districts of Tashkent. Appropriate projects to expand the infrastructure of preschool institutions will be prepared for them.

In addition, the meeting addressed the issue of traffic congestion, which is becoming increasingly acute for the capital. Today, 1.5 million vehicles travel on the streets of Tashkent daily.

The meeting emphasized that the traffic congestion problem cannot be solved solely by widening roads and building bridges and tunnels. Therefore, the task has been set to begin implementing intelligent transport systems by the end of the year for the safe and efficient management of pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
