At the meeting, special attention was paid to the issues of effective use of the educational and scientific potential of the Olmazor district, and creating a safe and modern environment for students.
75 thousand students study here at the same time. For this reason, the need to establish an integrated management system covering their studies and living conditions, employment, entrepreneurship, cultural life, and safety was emphasized.
Under the administration of the "Yoshlik" student town, the activities of separate responsible officials dealing with students' education, employment, social security, and women's issues will be established.
Nearly 18 thousand young people live in 41 student dormitories belonging to 7 higher education institutions in the district. A special Directorate will be established to improve their living conditions, keep the areas around the dormitories well-maintained, increase green areas and "book-cafes", and regularly hold cultural events.
It was noted that the practice of online monitoring of entry-exit and attendance at universities and dormitories through the Situation Center established in the student town is yielding good results.
The task was set to introduce this system to other districts of Tashkent city by the end of the year, and to all higher education institutions in the country next year.
The issue of increasing preschool education coverage was also reviewed at the meeting.
Currently, the level of preschool education coverage for children in the Olmazor district is 67 percent. It was emphasized that this indicator can be significantly increased by expanding the capacity of existing kindergartens in densely populated areas.
As a result of building a new 450-seat building in addition to the existing 385 seats on the territory of kindergarten No. 441, the needs of the neighborhood were fully met. Based on this experience, it was decided to start at least 5 more such projects in Olmazor by the end of the year.
In other districts of the capital, densely populated neighborhoods will also be identified, and projects to expand kindergarten infrastructure will be prepared.
At the same time, it was noted that traffic congestion is becoming increasingly urgent in Tashkent. Today, 1.5 million vehicles move on the streets of the capital daily.
Emphasizing that congestion cannot be solved only by widening roads, building bridges and tunnels, the task was set to start work on introducing intelligent transport systems for the safe and efficient management of pedestrian and vehicle traffic by the end of the year.
