Tashkent schools will have a system for automatically monitoring student attendance.

An automated student attendance monitoring system is being implemented in Tashkent schools.

The "Smart School" project, designed to automatically monitor student attendance, analyze their activity in class, and identify unauthorized persons, is being launched in educational institutions in the capital of Uzbekistan.

The pilot phase of the project began in the Sergeli district. Its first phase will be implemented in the upcoming academic year. Currently, the equipment has been installed in 177 of the 345 classrooms intended for students in grades 9-11.

The collected data will be sent to the Situation Center at the Sergeli District Khokimiyat. The remaining classrooms are scheduled to be connected to the system by August 25, after which the trial will be gradually expanded to other schools in Tashkent.

It was previously reported that new requirements came into effect for private schools, kindergartens, and educational centers in Uzbekistan on July 1. These institutions are required to maintain 24-hour video surveillance with audio recordings and store the recordings for at least six months.
