Purified drinking water systems are being installed in educational institutions in Karakalpakstan.
Tashkent, Uzbekistan – Podrobno.uz News Agency.
In 280 schools in Karakalpakstan, installation of drinking water devices, which will be connected to water treatment systems, has begun. This work is part of the "Clean Drinking Water" project.
During the previous phase of the project, modern water treatment systems were already installed in 48 comprehensive schools located in 12 districts of Karakalpakstan. Thus, all 280 educational institutions participating in the project are now equipped with such systems. Connecting the drinking water devices will provide schoolchildren with purified water directly within their institutions.
Concurrently, training is being conducted for teaching and other staff. All schools covered by the project have received training on the proper operation of water treatment systems, compliance with sanitary and hygienic standards, responsible water consumption, and equipment maintenance.
The foundation overseeing the project emphasized that this initiative also contributes to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, namely "Quality Education" and "Clean Water and Sanitation."
Plans were previously announced to create a tourist complex in Karakalpakstan, which will include yurts, a beach, a food court, and fishing spots. Visitors will also be offered 4x4 safari tours, horseback riding, and other outdoor activities.
