A series of special operations to counter illicit drug trafficking was conducted in Uzbekistan. Suspects in the possession and sale of prohibited substances were identified in Tashkent and Fergana regions, as well as in the capital. As a result of the measures, about one kilogram of drugs was seized.
Thus, a public utility worker was detained in Chirchik who, according to law enforcement, was linked to an online drug shop. He was caught while receiving a batch of the synthetic drug "alpha-PVP" intended for distribution in Tashkent and the region.
During further operational measures in the Chilanzar district of Tashkent, a man previously convicted of robbery and rape, as well as under other criminal articles, was detained. During a search of his residence, narcotic substances and hashish, which he had acquired from an acquaintance, were discovered.
Another episode was uncovered at a road patrol post in the Akhangaran district of Tashkent region. During the inspection of a Lacetti car traveling toward the capital, 250 grams of hashish were found in the engine compartment of the vehicle.
In Fergana region, two men were detained who bought hashish for 47 million sums from two women — a mother and daughter. Later, they were detained in Kokand while selling 500 grams of hashish.
Criminal cases have been initiated for all episodes under the article on illicit drug trafficking. The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement officers are identifying other participants and distribution channels.
Earlier in Andijan, two men were detained while selling almost two kilograms of hashish for 18 thousand dollars. During the detention, they actively resisted law enforcement officers and tried to escape, but they were successfully stopped.
