In Tashkent and the Fergana region, security forces conducted several operations resulting in the detention of three drug dealers and the seizure of over five kilograms of illicit substances.
In the capital's Yunusabad district, State Security Service officers, together with representatives of the Tashkent Main Department of Internal Affairs, stopped a 33-year-old man for a check. Three containers with 257 grams of hashish oil were found on him. Later, an additional 2.831 kilograms of this substance and digital scales were discovered at his home. Furthermore, it was established that he was connected to an online drug market.
Two more incidents were uncovered in the Fergana region. In the Fergana district, a 38-year-old local resident was detained while attempting to sell 982 grams of hashish to a buyer in an undercover operation for 10.7 thousand dollars. The drug was reportedly smuggled from a neighboring country.
In another case, a 29-year-old resident of Fergana was detained. He had picked up 956 grams of hashish from a stash in the Fergana district and was heading home when he was apprehended. According to the SSS, the drugs had been previously delivered from a neighboring state and left in the hiding place by drug couriers.
Criminal cases have been opened for all three incidents, and an investigation is underway.
Earlier in the Andijan region, two men were detained while selling nearly two kilograms of hashish for 18 thousand dollars. They resisted arrest and attempted to flee, but were stopped.
