More than 7 kilograms of substances seized from drug traffickers in two regions of Uzbekistan

In two regions of Uzbekistan, more than 7 kilograms of substances were seized from drug traffickers.

In the Tashkent and Namangan regions, officers of the State Security Service, together with law enforcement agencies, thwarted two cases of illicit drug trafficking. In total, more than 7.5 kilograms of banned substances were seized.

In the Bostanlyk district of the Tashkent region, a 26-year-old resident of the Markhamat district of the Andijan region was detained. The man attempted to flee in a Chevrolet Cobalt vehicle, failing to comply with the lawful demands of the officers. In the process, he threw two packages containing suspicious substances out of the car cabin.

After the vehicle was stopped, two more packages were found inside the cabin. In addition, another package that he was supposed to pick up was discovered at a geolocation point indicated by the detainee.

Forensic analysis established that the seized substance was hashish. The total weight was 5 kilograms.

Another case was detected at a border customs post in the Uchkurgan district of the Namangan region. During the inspection of a Chevrolet Lacetti vehicle that had entered Uzbekistan from a neighboring state, 2 kilograms and 513 grams of the synthetic drug alpha-PVP were found in the fuel tank.

Along with the driver, his suspected accomplice—a 21-year-old resident of the Chartak district—was detained. He had traveled with the driver to the border customs post, then crossed it on foot and was waiting for his accomplice already on the territory of Uzbekistan.

Criminal cases have been initiated for both incidents. Investigative actions are underway.

Earlier, a 21-year-old foreign citizen was detained in the Chilanzar district of Tashkent, from whom more than 5.2 kilograms of synthetic drugs were seized.
