In the city of Fergana, an illegal sale of coffee and dietary supplements intended for weight loss has been uncovered.
During an operational event conducted by officers of the Anti-Smuggling Department of the Fergana Region Customs Administration in cooperation with law enforcement agencies, a citizen of Uzbekistan was detained while selling 4 types of products to a conditional buyer for a pre-agreed sum of 65 million soums.
Based on his testimony, a foreign citizen residing in Uzbekistan was also detained.
According to the expert opinion, 2 types of the seized products — a total of 4,860 units of "Catalina Coffee" and "For x5 mixed coffee" — were found to contain the potent substance "sibutramine".
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the situation, and investigative actions are underway.
