Saida Mirziyoyeva spoke out about the tragedy involving child abuse in the Namangan region

The Head of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva, commented on the tragic incident that occurred in the Namangan region, emphasizing the need for the harshest possible punishment for those responsible and the preparation of proposals to toughen legislation.

She expressed her outrage over the incident and noted that the death penalty should be applied for such crimes.

"Since the current law does not provide for it, we are preparing proposals to amend the legislation in order to toughen liability to the maximum extent possible," Saida Mirziyoyeva stated.

According to the Head of the Administration, responsibility must be borne not only by the direct perpetrator, but also by all persons who showed negligence and failed to ensure the child's safety.

Earlier, it was reported that the warehouse manager of one of the kindergartens in the Namangan region is suspected of sexual abuse against a 5-year-old female pupil. A criminal case has been initiated regarding this fact under Part 4 of Article 118 (rape of a person under the age of 14) and Part 1 of Article 112 (threat of murder or violence) of the Criminal Code. The suspect has been taken into custody, and an investigation is underway.

The case is under the control of the Children's Ombudsman. Currently, specialists from the "Inson" social services center are providing psychological, medical, and legal assistance to the girl and her mother. The child is with her family under the care of her parents.
