Sadyr Japarov awarded Uzbek journalist Akhmadjon Meliboev with the "Dostyk" (Friendship) Order

On September 14, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov presented the "Dostyk" Order to Uzbek writer and journalist Akhmadjon Meliboev.

Akhmadjon Meliboev was awarded the "Dostyk" Order as a representative of Uzbekistan's cultural sphere, a writer, and a journalist.

During the ceremony, state awards were presented to representatives of various fields who have achieved great success in their professional activities and contributed to the socio-economic, intellectual, and cultural development of the country.

"A state award is the highest form of recognition and gratitude expressed by the state to people who, through their work, have made a significant contribution to the development of the country and service to the people," said Sadyr Japarov.

The President of Kyrgyzstan noted that a relevant law was developed and adopted in order to regulate the awarding system, and to ensure justice, impartiality, and transparency.

"We have taken steps to update the awarding system at the legislative level, as well as to increase the prestige of state awards. In accordance with the new legislation, the number of awards has been optimized and their significance has been increased. Now, it is necessary to strictly adhere to the principle that a state award should only be presented to a truly deserving person," he said.

At the ceremony, representatives of various fields were also honored with orders and awards.

Earlier, it was reported that citizens of Uzbekistan may stay in Kyrgyzstan for up to 15 days without registration.
