Mirziyoyev awarded figures in science, culture, and medicine

In honor of the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence, the President awarded state awards and honorary titles to a group of representatives from science, education, healthcare, sports, culture, and the media.

On August 22, 2026, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree "On awarding a group of workers in science, education, healthcare, sports, culture, and art, as well as the media, in connection with the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan," the presidential press service reported.

The awards were given for their contribution to strengthening the country's independence, enhancing the effectiveness of reforms to build a New Uzbekistan, developing the intellectual and spiritual potential of the people, and for their achievements in the development of science, education, healthcare, sports, culture, art, and the media.

The honorary title of "People's Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was awarded to Ilyos Arabov, a lecturer at the Yunus Rajabi Institute of National Musical Art, and Yulduz Turdiyeva, a singer with the state-run institution "Uzbekconcert." The title of "People's Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was awarded to Akmaljon Jamoldinov, chief artist of the State Philharmonic of Uzbekistan.

The title of "Honored Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was awarded to Shukurullah Israilov, a master of artistic expression at Uzbekconcert; Bobur Yuldashev, artistic director of the "Diydor" Experimental Youth Theater Studio; and Shokhrukh Yuldashev, a singer at Uzbekconcert. The title of "Honored Coach of the Youth of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was awarded to Gulchekhra Jamilova, an honored actress at the Uzbek National Academic Drama Theater; Abdumalik Madraimov, director of the family business "Gidzhak Boburiy" in Andijan; and Shukhrat Tokhtasimov, rector of the State Academy of Choreography of Uzbekistan. The title of "Honored Sports Mentor of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was awarded to Elena Aslanova, senior coach of the specialized sports school for gymnastics in the Samarkand region, and Vohidjon Temirov, senior Greco-Roman wrestling coach at the Chirchik Olympic and Paralympic Training Center.

The Order of Imam Bukhari was awarded to Makhmud Ibodullaev, Honorary Imam of the Imam al-Bukhari Mosque in the Payaryk District of the Samarkand Region; Zakhid Islamov, Professor of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at Al-Azhar University of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan; Hamid Ishmatbekov, First Deputy Chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan; Azizjon Mansurov, Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan; and Gafur Razakov, Imam-Khatib of the Bahovaddin Naqshband Mosque in the Kagan District of the Bukhara Region.

The Order "For Selfless Service" was awarded to Ravshan Ashurov, head of a laboratory at the V. I. Romanovsky Institute of Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences; Tashkhan Gulyamova, head of a laboratory at the Institute of Microbiology of the Academy of Sciences; and Karimali Elmurodov, a surgeon in the surgical department of the Kashkadarya branch of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care.

The Order of "Mehnat Shukhrati" was awarded to, among others, Ikram Abdullaev, Chairman of the Khorezm Mamun Academy of the Academy of Sciences; Rustam Assakalov, head coach of the Uzbekistan national Greco-Roman wrestling team; Janat Ismailova, Director of the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan of the Academy of Sciences; Nizomiddin Makhmudov, Director of the Institute of Uzbek Language, Literature, and Folklore of the Academy of Sciences; and Jenisbek Piyazov, an opera singer from Karakalpakstan. A total of 11 people were awarded this order.

A group of 22 people were awarded the "Dustlik" Order, including Tatyana Abadieva, a phthisiologist at the Tashkent Tuberculosis Dispensary; Amangul Avezdurdiyeva, Chairperson of the Tashkent Turkmen Cultural Center; Lazizahon Gafurova, a professor at the National University of Uzbekistan; professional boxer Israil Madrimov; Askar Umbetayev, Chairman of the Kazakh National Cultural Center of Karakalpakstan; and Rodion Soy, Chairman of the Korean Cultural Center of Uzbekistan.

The "Soglom Avlod Uchun" (Progress of the People) Order, 1st Class, was awarded to Nodira Mustafayeva, Head of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Sciences at the Academy of Sciences, and Zukhra Rakhmankulova, Professor of the Department of Neonatology at Tashkent State Medical University. The second class of this order was awarded to, among others, Nazira Rakhmanova, Director of the Khorezm Regional Children's Library, and Bakhtiyor Kholmatov, Director of the Institute of Zoology at the Academy of Sciences.

The Order of Salomatlik, 1st Class, was awarded to Turakul Arzikulov, Head of the Neurosurgery Department of the Jizzakh Branch of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care, and Khudoyshukur Bobokulov, Head of the Intensive Care Unit of the Interdistrict Perinatal Center of the Kumkurgan District, Surkhandarya Region. The Order of Salomatlik, 2nd Class, was awarded to, among others, Ilkhom Makhmudov, Head of the Department of the 1st Central Clinical Hospital, and Yakhyo Saliev, Physician of the Karakalpakstan Regional Branch of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Eye Microsurgery.

Seven healthcare, education, and television workers were awarded the Soglom Turmush (Soglom Turmush) medal, including Shakhlo Aslonova, Head of the Neo-Intensive Care Unit of the Interdistrict Perinatal Center of the Romitan District, Bukhara Region, and Komilakhon Tashmatova, Editor-in-Chief of the Bolajon TV Channel.

Seven young specialists were awarded the "Kelajak Bunyodkori" medal, including Abdurashid Abdukarimov, a surgeon at the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Surgery named after Academician V. Vakhidov, and Dilmurod Rustamov, a student at the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent.

Over 30 people were awarded the "Shukhrat" medal, including Mirazam Abdullaev, founder of the "Teacher Azam" social media page; Shakhlokhon Abidova, a columnist for the Namangan radio channel; Nuriddin Bakhritdinov, a cardiac surgeon at the Namangan branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Cardiology; and Saidaziz Ishankhodjaev, Deputy Chairman of the Culture and Arts Development Fund under the Presidential Administration.
