Mirziyoyev awarded foreigners and compatriots abroad

In honor of the 35th anniversary of independence, the President awarded a group of foreign citizens and compatriots living abroad for their contribution to developing cooperation with Uzbekistan.

On August 22, 2026, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev issued a decree "On awarding foreign citizens and compatriots living abroad in connection with the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan."

According to the decree, awards were presented for their contribution to the implementation of large-scale economic reforms in Uzbekistan, the formation and strengthening of multilateral and productive cooperation in implementing key programs in priority sectors, significant contributions to the process of profound socioeconomic change, active participation in the implementation of major investment and infrastructure projects, as well as for efforts to enhance the international prestige of the New Uzbekistan and support initiatives aimed at developing friendship and mutually beneficial partnership. The Order of Dustlik was awarded to Ivan Sao, Deputy General Director of BYD Auto's European Sales Division; Claude Imovin, Chairman of the Uzbek-French Business Council of the French movement MEDEF International; Masayoshi Fujimoto, Director of Sojitz; Sabine Mahl, UN Resident Coordinator in Uzbekistan; and Sinan Turaman, Chair of the Supervisory Board of Outdoor Factory Toshkent LLC in Tashkent's Shaykhantakhur District.

The Order of Salomatlik, 2nd Class, was awarded to Nilufar Kakharova, Project Manager at Boston Children's Hospital at Harvard University (USA), and Nodira Yuldasheva, Founder of the Association of Uzbeks in Canada and Director of the Soglom Yo'l Medical and Diagnostic Center in Toronto.

The Shukhrat Medal was awarded to Shakhlo Abdullaeva, Director of the Center for the Protection of the Rights and Education of Migrant Women in Gwangju (Republic of Korea).
