Representatives of foreign parliaments highly appreciated the XII Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians held in Samarkand
The assembly discussed issues of strengthening democratic institutions, increasing public trust, ensuring equal opportunities, and combating climate change.
Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbaeva informed the meeting participants about the results of the XII Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, held in Samarkand in September this year.
The conference paid special attention to developing parliamentary solutions for the protection of human rights in the context of global challenges, promoting the UN "Youth, Peace and Security" agenda, responsibly regulating digital platforms, and expanding the participation of youth in decision-making processes.
Additionally, the role and opportunities of young parliamentarians in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals were discussed.
Representatives of foreign parliaments highly praised the level of organization, international scale, and results of the conference in Samarkand. The practical importance of the conference's final document and Uzbekistan's contribution to the development of youth parliamentary diplomacy were particularly noted.
