Central Asia has a historic opportunity to become a vital link between China and Europe, but has yet to fully capitalize on it. The shallow Caspian Sea, limited infrastructure, energy shortages, dependence on Russia, and lack of systemic risk management make the region particularly vulnerable. In an interview with Exclusive.kz, economist Marat Musuraliyev (Kyrgyzstan) explains why the current turbulence could last for years and why countries in the region need to prepare for worst-case scenarios.
