Uzbekistan's para-cyclists have won World Championship gold for the first time

The Uzbekistan national team won three gold and one silver medals at the Para-cycling Road World Championships in Huntsville, Alabama. This is the country's best result in the history of its appearances at world championships.

The world championship lasted four days and was the 15th in total. About 300 athletes from 47 countries participated in it.

Two gold medals were brought to Uzbekistan by Marjona Pardaboeva, competing in the T1 class on a tricycle. She finished first in the time trial and in the road race.

Another two medals were won by Pokiza Akhmadbekova in the H1 class among handcycle athletes. She won the time trial and finished second in the road race.

The gold medals of Pardaboeva and Akhmadbekova became the first in history for Uzbek para-cyclists at world championships.

At the previous world championship, held in August 2025 in Ronse, Belgium, the Uzbekistan national team took four silver and one bronze medals.
