The Uzbekistan national rowing team achieved historic success at the World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam, winning the country's first-ever gold medal at the senior world championships.

Shakhzod Nurmatov and Sobir Safarliev won the lightweight double sculls (LM2x) event.

The silver medal went to the second-place German team, while the bronze went to the American team.
