On September 7, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by Liu Haixing, Deputy Director of the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. The guest conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of the President of the PRC, Xi Jinping, to the head of state.

During the meeting, issues of expanding multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and China were discussed. It was noted that in recent years, the strategic partnership relations between the two countries have risen to a high level, the volume of trade turnover and investments has consistently grown, and the number of joint projects with the participation of Chinese companies has been increasing.

On the same day, a meeting with the Chinese delegation was also held at the Executive Committee of the Political Council of the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan. It discussed the current state and prospects of the strategic partnership, as well as issues of expanding inter-party cooperation.

The parties emphasized that the political dialogue between the heads of state Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Xi Jinping serves as an important foundation for strengthening trust and beneficial cooperation between the two countries. It was announced that last year the volume of trade turnover reached 18 billion dollars, with plans to increase this figure to 30 billion dollars in the coming years, while the portfolio of joint investment projects exceeds 60 billion dollars.

During the meetings, the importance of strengthening inter-parliamentary and inter-party cooperation, deepening cooperation in the field of higher and vocational education, including the opening of branches of leading Chinese higher education institutions in Uzbekistan, was emphasized. Opportunities for exchanging experience on digital transformation, the use of artificial intelligence and digital platforms in the activities of modern political parties, and the introduction of new mechanisms for dialogue with citizens were also discussed.

At the conclusion of the meetings, which were held in a warm and constructive spirit, the parties agreed to adopt a joint "road map" on expanding inter-parliamentary and inter-party cooperation.
