Over the past decade, the number of foreign universities operating in Uzbekistan has more than quadrupled.

At the beginning of the previous academic year, 30 foreign higher education institutions were operating in Uzbekistan. Over the past ten years, this number has increased 4.3-fold.

According to the National Statistics Committee, in the 2005/2006 academic year, only two foreign universities were operating in the country. By the 2010/2011 academic year, this number had reached six.

By the 2020/2021 academic year, the number of foreign universities had tripled, reaching 18. Over the next five years, 12 more such institutions were opened.

Thus, over the past two decades, the number of foreign higher education institutions in Uzbekistan has increased 15-fold.

It was previously reported that a branch of China's Liaoning Normal University has opened in Khiva, which will train specialists in artificial intelligence and tourism.
