Oriental studies graduates will be sent to teach in remote schools of Uzbekistan
Graduates of the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies will be able to teach in schools located in remote regions of the country for two years. The program includes teaching at a school, additional financial support, and professional training.
This opportunity is provided for by a memorandum of cooperation signed by the Teach for Uzbekistan (TFU) organization and the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies. The parties intend to improve the quality of foreign language teaching, including Oriental languages, in schools located far from major cities.
To achieve this, talented university graduates will be able to join the two-year Fellowship program. Its participants will work full-time in schools and conduct classes while simultaneously undergoing intensive training in pedagogy and leadership. In this way, young specialists will be able not only to apply their acquired knowledge in practice, but also to develop their teaching skills.
In addition to their salary, participants will receive extra financial and methodological support. After completing the program, they will join the international Teach For All network, which unites participants from more than 60 countries.
The program is expected to expand opportunities for schoolchildren from remote regions to learn foreign languages. Furthermore, the young teachers will develop language clubs and social projects. These are intended to help children broaden their horizons and apply the knowledge they gain in practice.
In addition, the Abdullah Avloni State Award has been established in Uzbekistan to encourage the best educators at all levels of the education system.
