Uzbekistan, Francophonie Institute sign agreement to train 1,410 French language teachers by 2030

Uzbekistan's Ministry of Preschool and School Education has entered into a memorandum of cooperation with the French Institute of Francophonie aimed at enhancing the professional development of French language educators and fostering educational collaboration.

As stated by the ministry, this agreement outlines plans to train 1,410 French language teachers throughout Uzbekistan by the year 2030. Each year, up to 300 teachers will take part in professional development courses, with 910 teachers benefiting from fully funded pedagogical scholarships totaling €1.3 million.

Additionally, the two parties have committed to working together on the Allumer les etoiles program, which is dedicated to enhancing teacher qualifications, training teacher trainers, and bringing French language experts from France to collaborate with educators in Uzbekistan.

As part of this partnership, a branch of the French Institute of Francophonie will be set up at the Avloni National Institute of Pedagogical Skills. The ministry noted that this office will act as a regional hub for the professional development of French language teachers, facilitating training initiatives and educational partnerships between Uzbekistan and France.

In a related announcement, the ministry revealed that over 10,000 schools nationwide will gain free access to the Canva for Education platform for three years through a separate international grant agreement.
