Night attack in Ukraine: one person killed, several injured
The Russian army attacked the cities of Kiev, Zaporizhia, Kryvyi Rih, and Kharkiv, as well as the Sumy and Poltava regions, on the night of August 27. According to local authorities, at least one person was killed and several others were injured in the attacks.

The Romny district of Sumy region was attacked. Oleg Grigorov, the head of the regional military administration, reported that a 66-year-old woman died as a result of a strike on a residential building. According to preliminary data, the area was attacked by nine unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Some of them were shot down, but civilian infrastructure was hit. Four people sought medical help after the attack.
There were also casualties in the city of Zaporizhia. According to Ivan Fedorov, the head of the regional military administration, two men and a woman were injured. The strike damaged a car and several buildings, and also caused a fire.
In Kryvyi Rih, a missile strike damaged an industrial enterprise. According to the mayor of the city, Alexander Vilkul, two people were injured, but their condition is not serious.
The Ukrainian capital, Kiev, was also hit overnight. According to the Kiev city military administration, shrapnel from the airstrike fell in two places - in the courtyard of a residential building in the Podolsky district and on the territory of an educational institution in the Shevchenko district. Earlier, an air alert was declared in Kiev due to the threat of ballistic missiles and drones.
In Kharkiv, a drone hit a balcony on the fourth floor of a residential building. According to the head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleg Sinegubov, a 30-year-old man suffered a severe stress reaction as a result of the incident.
The head of the Poltava regional military administration, Vitaly Dyakivnych, also reported that the area had been hit, but did not provide additional information about the nature of the strikes and their consequences.
Local authorities said that they were continuing to assess the consequences of the attacks and the work of relevant services at the damaged facilities.
