New ambassadors of Sweden and Belgium to Uzbekistan have been appointed
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, received credentials from the new ambassadors of Sweden and Belgium, Martin Rosen and Mathias Kemde. During the meetings, issues of strengthening political dialogue, as well as expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation were discussed.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, received credentials from the newly appointed ambassadors of Sweden and Belgium to the country. The head of the MFA announced this on his Telegram channel on September 10.
Martin Rosén has been appointed to the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden to Uzbekistan.
Bakhtiyor Saidov stated that in recent years, Uzbekistan-Sweden relations have become significantly more active.
During the meeting, the need to expand trade, economic, and investment cooperation, as well as to encourage direct contacts between the business communities of the two countries, was emphasized.
"Wishing the Ambassador success in his new role, we expressed our readiness to work together to bring mutual relations to a new level," the minister said.
Martin Rosén replaced Tomas Danestad, who served as Sweden's ambassador to Uzbekistan from 2022 to 2026.

The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belgium to Uzbekistan, Mathias Cande, also presented copies of his credentials.
"During the conversation, it was noted that the establishment of the Belgian Embassy's activities in Tashkent is an important event in the relations between the two countries," Bakhtiyor Saidov wrote.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to further strengthening political dialogue between the states, and expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation.
Readiness was also expressed to further develop Uzbekistan-Belgium ties both within the framework of bilateral relations and the European Union.
"We wish the Ambassador great success in his responsible and honorable activities in Uzbekistan," said the head of the MFA.
Mathias Cande replaced Henri Vantieghem, who was previously accredited as Belgium's ambassador to Tashkent.
For reference, diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Sweden were established on April 8, 1992, and between Uzbekistan and Belgium on March 16, 1992.
