The Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Umid Shodiev, presented his credentials to the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in Abu Dhabi.

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the UAE, Umid Shadiev, presented his credentials to the President of the country, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The ceremony took place at the official residence "Qasr Al Watan" in Abu Dhabi.
During the meeting, the President of the UAE positively assessed the current level of bilateral relations and wished Umid Shadiev success in his diplomatic work. The parties paid special attention to the further development of cooperation in the trade, economic, investment, and tourism sectors.
The Emirati side declared its readiness to create all necessary conditions for the effective fulfillment of the diplomatic mission by the new Ambassador of Uzbekistan.
In response, Umid Shadiev conveyed sincere greetings and respect to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on behalf of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The Ambassador emphasized that thanks to the political will of the leaders of the two countries, Uzbek-Emirati relations at the highest level have reached a qualitatively new stage. He also declared his readiness to make every effort to further expand the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the UAE.
Umid Shadiev succeeded Abdulaziz Akkulov, who headed the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the UAE in 2022–2025. In December 2025, Akkulov was appointed Chairman of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan.
Earlier, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported receiving copies of Umid Shadiev's credentials in April 2026. At that time, the Emirati side also noted its readiness to develop relations with Uzbekistan in all areas.
