More than 150 citizens of Uzbekistan are undergoing training at the Korea Aerospace University

Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea are stepping up cooperation in the field of civil aviation. The main focus is on training pilots and aviation specialists who will be able to work according to international standards.

The main partner of the country has become the Korea Aerospace University (KAU). Cooperation with this university is aimed at transferring advanced flight training experience and creating a human resource base for national aviation.

Training is conducted in 8 areas: flight operation, air traffic control, aviation management, air transport logistics, service management, aviation business, IT and cybersecurity, as well as cabin crew training (flight attendants).

More than 150 Uzbek citizens are already studying at KAU at the bachelor's and master's levels. Specialists are being trained there for new infrastructure facilities, including the airports of New Tashkent and Urgench, as well as for national airlines.

During his visit to South Korea, the Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan, Ilkhom Makhkamov, held talks with the President of KAU, Hur Hee-young. The parties discussed expanding student enrollment, attracting Korean pilot instructors and training aircraft, as well as the university's participation in establishing a Pilot School in Uzbekistan.
