Uzbekistan and South Korea to expand cooperation in the agricultural sector

Uzbekistan and South Korea have agreed to expand cooperation in the agricultural sector. This agreement also covers the areas of agricultural education and specialist training. A memorandum of understanding was signed at the end of the meeting between representatives of relevant organizations of the two countries.

The document was signed by Rustam Nizomov, Director of the Institute for Retraining and Advanced Training of Agricultural Personnel, and Lee Yong-bom, Managing Director of the International Horticultural Research Institute of the Republic of Korea.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed issues of further developing bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector, as well as improving the system of training and advanced training of personnel.

One of the main areas of cooperation will be the systematic improvement of professional knowledge and competencies of agricultural specialists. The parties also considered the possibilities of improving advanced training and retraining programs, taking into account international experience.

Particular attention was paid to the integration of scientific and practical developments into the educational process. According to the participants of the meeting, cooperation in this area will serve to develop the content of specialist training, strengthen the connection between vocational education, scientific research and practice.

In addition, representatives of the two countries discussed the issue of organizing mutual visits of specialists and experts. It is planned to hold joint seminars, trainings and advanced training courses within the framework of future cooperation.

The signed memorandum is expected to strengthen the legal and organizational foundations of cooperation between the parties. The document also provides for the consistent development of mutually beneficial projects in the fields of agriculture and personnel training.
