Mirziyoyev visited the new medical academy in Karakalpakstan
By the decree of the head of state dated December 24, 2024, the task was set to transform the region's medical institutions into a single innovative cluster with the participation of the private sector, uniting science, education, and practice.
For these purposes, a modern complex with a total cost of 154 billion soums was built on a 4.6-hectare plot, creating 80 new jobs.
Each year, 3,000 doctors and 6,800 mid-level medical and pharmaceutical workers will be able to undergo advanced training at the academy. In addition, about 100 clinical residents from the Aral Sea region will undergo training here.
All necessary conditions have been created for their education and accommodation. A modern 72-bed hotel is available for specialists coming from remote areas.
To develop practical skills, 18 simulation rooms have been equipped. They offer training in more than 50 areas, allowing the preparation of specialists in more than 100 types of medical practice in accordance with international standards.
The institution is equipped with modern medical technologies. In particular, the "Edge Medical" surgical robot, the only one of its kind in Central Asia, has been installed here. It not only provides the opportunity to conduct simulation training sessions but also allows for high-precision remote surgeries in real clinical conditions.
The academy collaborates with prestigious foreign medical centers and leading universities, including the University of Pittsburgh (USA) and the University of Freiburg (Germany). International training courses and joint scientific research have been organized, and telemedicine and digital learning technologies have been implemented.
