Mirziyoyev presents Trump with 2 traditional sheds for his garden in Washington
Shavkat Mirziyoyev has presented Donald Trump with two "elegantly crafted" Uzbek sheds. They will be installed in the planned National Park of American Heroes in Washington. "They will become a symbol of our friendship and strategic partnership," wrote Furkat Sidiqov, the ambassador to the United States.
Mirziyoyev gave Trump two traditional sheds for his Washington garden.
The New York Times published a story about the latest foreign gifts to US President Donald Trump. It mentions a luxury plane from Qatar, a pair of tigers from Saudi Arabia, and two “elegantly crafted” sheds presented by the president of Uzbekistan.
The sheds will be installed in West Potomac Park, where President Trump is planning to build a National Park of American Heroes. “In recent days, trucks have been seen transporting huge boxes with postage labels from Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. The gardens in Uzbekistan are distinguished by their sheds, which reflect the traditional, intricate wood carving art of Central Asia,” the report says.
“Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has generously presented traditional Uzbek pavilions to President Donald Trump, who has accepted the gifts on behalf of the people of the United States. Visitors to the West Potomac Park will be able to enjoy the exquisitely crafted pavilions later this fall,” said Katie Martin, communications director for the U.S. Department of the Interior (NYT) .
Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United States, Furkat Sidiqov, wrote about the gift on his X page. “We are proud that Uzbek art will become part of the National Park of American Heroes in Washington. The two traditional Uzbek pavilions, a gift from the President of Uzbekistan to the President of the United States and the American people, will become a symbol of our friendship and strategic partnership,” he said.
Trump is reportedly planning a large-scale project in West Potomac Park, a park that is mostly sports fields and is located near the National Mall. The project will include pools, dining areas, an amphitheater and 250 life-size statues of famous Americans. The proposed Heroes Park is located near a golf course that Trump has proposed turning into a luxury resort.
However, according to Trump administration officials, both projects are still in the early planning stages. Any plans for Heroes Park, including designs for individual statues, typically must be reviewed by the National Capital Planning Commission and the Fine Arts Commission.
In June, the United States and Uzbekistan intensified negotiations on a trade and investment agreement. Uzbekistan has committed to eliminating or reducing tariffs on many US industrial and agricultural products, the NYT reports. “The United States has committed to taking into account the positive aspects of the tariffs on Uzbekistan’s industrial and agricultural products.”
In September 2025, Trump called Mirziyoyev a “highly respected” person in a social media post and congratulated him on his purchase of $8 billion worth of Boeing aircraft.
