Mirziyoyev launches $40 million Beeline data center in Bukhara

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev launched the operation of a new Beeline Uzbekistan data center in the Bukhara region. Private investment in the project amounted to $40 million.

The facility was built in the Kagan district as part of a joint project between Beeline Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Digital Technologies.

It will become part of the operator's geographically distributed backup infrastructure and will be aimed at improving the reliability and uninterrupted operation of digital services for millions of users.

The project is designed for further expansion. Its documentation received the Tier III Certification of Design Documents (TCDD) from the international organization Uptime Institute. This certification confirms that the design solutions comply with the requirements for data center reliability and fault tolerance.

According to VEON, over 20 years of operation, the group has invested about $1.8 billion in the economy of Uzbekistan. A significant part of these funds was directed to the country over the last decade.

In addition to building the data center, one of the company's major investment steps was the acquisition of Perfectum for $207 million.

Evgeny Nastradin, CEO of Beeline Uzbekistan, noted that the launch of the new facility and the purchase of Perfectum reflect the group's long-term plans in the Uzbek market.

According to him, the company intends to continue investing in the development of digital infrastructure and participating in the country's digital transformation.

Locating the data center outside of Tashkent also expands the geography of modern digital infrastructure.

As the company emphasizes, the project aligns with the objectives of the "Digital Uzbekistan — 2030" strategy and opens up additional opportunities for the development of digital services, including solutions based on artificial intelligence.
