Construction has begun in Karakalpakstan on six digital infrastructure facilities worth a total of $5.11 billion, including mining and data centers.

Construction of six large-scale digital infrastructure facilities has begun in Karakalpakstan: three mining complexes and three data centers. The total investment in these projects reaches $5.11 billion, as announced by Amanbay Orynbayev, Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of Karakalpakstan, during the launch ceremony for the new facilities, attended by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Orynbayev emphasized that the favorable conditions created in the region contribute to increased attention to the quality of investments and initiatives being implemented.

The development of digital infrastructure is one of the priority areas of Karakalpakstan's investment policy. The establishment of a specialized mining zone in the region, called Besqala Mining Valley, was previously announced. According to a presidential decree, this zone will cover the entire territory of Karakalpakstan.

Residents of this zone are permitted to use electricity from the unified power grid, as well as energy generated from renewable sources and hydrogen power plants, for mining.

Besqala Mining Valley participants will benefit from tax incentives. Revenues from mining activities are exempt from taxes and fees until January 1, 2035.

A special directorate will be established to ensure the functioning of the zone. The National Agency for Advanced Projects issuing permits for mining activities will be handled.

Residents can sell crypto assets obtained through mining through national crypto exchanges and international platforms, or exchange them for other liquid crypto assets.

New projects include the construction of three mining facilities and three data centers, with a total value estimated at $5.11 billion.
