The construction of three mining and three data centers worth a total of $5.11 billion has begun in Karakalpakstan. This was announced by Amanbay Orinbayev, Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of Karakalpakstan, at the ceremony of commissioning the new facilities, attended by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The presidential decree stipulated the creation of a special zone for mining in Karakalpakstan. It was stated that investors in this special zone created for data centers will be exempted from all types of taxes and duties until 2040. Amanbay Orinbayev noted that now the region has the opportunity to pay more attention to the quality of investors and investments.
"Previously, we were happy if investors came, whether they were large or small, invested. Now, thanks to the opportunities you are creating, we have the opportunity to pay special attention to the quality level of both investors and investments," he said.
The Chairman of the Jokorgi Kenes also provided information about major projects in the field of "green" energy. A wind power plant worth $ 3.3 billion is being built in partnership with ACWA. The $ 260 million "Nukus-2" wind power plant was also commissioned at the ceremony. Last year, the $ 107 million "Nukus-1" project was launched in the region.
The ceremony of commissioning new facilities in the regions on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of independence, attended by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, was held on August 25. At the ceremony, 72 large industrial and service projects worth 50 trillion soums and 91 social sector facilities were commissioned.
