Medical workers in Uzbekistan will start receiving salary bonuses — who will get them and how much

Starting January 1, 2027, monthly salary bonuses will be introduced for a number of medical workers in Uzbekistan. For certain specialists, the payment amount will exceed five million soums.

According to the presidential decree, starting January 1, 2027, monthly bonuses will be calculated based on the basic tariff rate or salary.

The largest bonuses are set for family doctors: specialists who have completed a residency in family medicine, as well as teaching staff with a master's degree in this field, will receive a payment equal to four minimum wages — 5.44 million soums.

For nurses and male nurses with a bachelor's degree, the bonus will be one minimum wage — 1.36 million soums. Those who have obtained a master's degree can expect two minimum wages — 2.72 million soums.

In addition, the training system for future doctors will also change: they will be trained taking into account the actual needs of regions and hospitals, the share of practical training in curricula will be increased, and clinical internship (ordinatura) will be replaced by residency.
