Major projects will be implemented in roads and drinking water supply

In the Kashkadarya region, to improve road infrastructure, the reconstruction of a 100-kilometer section of the A-380 highway passing through the region will begin in cooperation with the Asian Development Bank. The value of the project is $350 million.

The bypass road of the city of Karshi will be extended by 5.5 kilometers and connected to the A-380 highway. Officials were instructed to prepare the feasibility study of the project by the end of this year and start construction work in January.

Also, two modern overpasses worth 250 billion soums will be built at railway crossings on the "Karshi — Pomuq" and "Guzar — Beyneu" highways to eliminate traffic jams that occur during the passage of trains.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that one of the most pressing issues in Kashkadarya is supplying the population with drinking water.

Due to the 1 trillion soums allocated this year, instructions were given to complete the construction of 747 kilometers of water and sewerage networks and 43 facilities within two months. As a result, 200,000 residents will be provided with clean drinking water.

100 billion soums were allocated to start the project of building a water supply pipeline from the Hisorak reservoir to the city of Karshi, Kamashi and Guzar districts, as well as Karshi district. The task was set to attract another $210 million to implement the project with high quality. As a result, 350,000 residents will be provided with clean drinking water.

To improve the water supply for another 700,000 residents in Nishan, Kasbi, Mirishkor, Mubarek, and Karshi districts, a project to reconstruct the "Talimarjan — Mubarek" water system is beginning. It is planned to prepare its feasibility study by April 1 and attract $150 million for the project.
