Labor Inspection: Certain khokimiyats continue to illegally involve employees in overtime work

Despite warning letters being sent to all regional and municipal administrations (hokimiyats), cases of violations have not stopped. Officials are being brought to account regarding the detected cases.

Labor Inspectorate: Some Hokimiyats Continue to Illegally Involve Employees in Overtime Work

In Uzbekistan, cases of involving employees in work beyond the established working hours in violation of the law still continue in certain hokimiyats.

It is reported that the inspectorate sent warning letters to all regional, city, and district hokimiyats regarding compliance with the working time regime and not involving employees in overtime work in violation of legislative requirements.

Despite this, cases of illegally involving employees in work beyond the established working hours continue in some hokimiyats. According to the inspectorate, officials are being held accountable in the prescribed manner for the identified violations.

The State Labor Inspectorate once again warned all regional, city, and district hokimiyats regarding compliance with labor legislation.

"When involving employees in overtime work, strict compliance with the requirements of labor legislation is mandatory," the inspectorate's message states.

It is noted that compliance with the working hours and rest time regime is an important guarantee for protecting the health, working capacity, and family life of employees.

"Violating an employee's right to rest means violating their labor rights guaranteed by law," the inspectorate emphasized.

The agency stated that every appeal will be taken under control and measures provided by law will be taken regarding the identified violations.

As a reminder, back in September, the State Labor Inspectorate also reported receiving appeals regarding the forced involvement of employees in fulfilling various assignments during overtime hours and on weekends in certain regions.

At that time, the inspectorate emphasized that forced labor is prohibited by law and that forcing employees to work under the threat of punishment or pressure without their consent is inadmissible.
